So there you are, waiting in the airport lobby with your hemp cloth sneakers on reading you latest copy of “Green Times”. Your limo service is on the way, chugging along burning up a whopping 12 miles per gallon and your going to have to join the polluters for the brief time that it takes you to get to your destination.
The Technology is Available
This is a problem that far too many people just like you face but hopefully things will change in the coming future. The truth of the matter, is that the technology is available but too many people are unwilling to foot the bill that a green limo service would cost.
Green High Performance Vehicles
Neil Young recently had a Lincoln converted to completely electric and believe it or not, it is a high performance vehicle that will go from zero to sixty in something like five and and a half seconds. Also, Arnold Schwarzenegger recently had a hummer converted to hydrogen power by the same shop that did Neil Young's Lincoln.
An Expensive Proposition
The problem, is that it costs over $100,000 to do the conversion on a larger vehicle of this type and thats just the motor under the hood. Also, electric vehicles do need to be recharged, which translates into downtime which is something that limousine services just don't like.
Who Will Pay?
The end result, is that if there was a green limo service available a ride with them today would easily cost twice as much as a standard limousine service would. Are you willing to pay it Mr. Granola?

If you would be willing to pay for a green fully electric or hybrid limousine service then you need to contact your local limousine service operator and tell them so. Also, bear in mind that talk is cheap, so when a green limousine service does come available then make sure you patronize it.
